Zinc-Tin Alloyed Coated Copper

Freedom Gray is architectural copper coated on both sides with a unique, patented Z-T Alloy (zinc-tin alloy). It offers all the advantages of copper with a naturally weathering earthtone grey colour. Reveres’s Z-T coated copper is rugged, environmentally friendly and aesthetically appealing, for use in virtually all architectural metal applications.

The zinc-tin alloy is applied to both sides of our sheets and coils, using a hot-dip process. This ensures complete coverage and eliminates voids. A satin finish is factory-applied to Freedom Gray to reduce initial reflectivenss and provide a natural, weathered appearance.

The uncovered satin finished zinc-tin alloy begins to darken immediately upon exposure. Environmental conditions and severity of exposure dictate how long this will take. As with plain and pre-patinated copper, Freedom Gray will always display differences in the shades and hues of their natural patina. These are NOT an indication of defective material. In many respects it is the variations that give Freedom Gray its unique life, vitality and aesthetics.
